WHAT TO EXPECT

Heron’s Flight is an event built around movement, health, and community. Runners, walkers, and families are welcome on the 5K course which goes through scenic Glide Loop Drive. Whether you’re chasing a personal best or strolling with a friend, all are welcome.

Located at the Glide Community Center, the Wellness Fair keeps the day going with local vendors, health resources, and activities for all ages. There’s something to enjoy whether you lace up or not.

Heron’s Flight honors the memory of Carmen Bernal, who dedicated her life to nursing and caring for others, and proceeds support the Carmen Bernal Compassionate Nursing Scholarship for aspiring nurses here in Douglas County. Come for the run, stay for the fair, and help carry her legacy forward.

Heron’s Flight is more than a race. It’s a community celebration of wellness, education, and compassion. Net proceeds benefit the Carmen Bernal Compassionate Nursing Scholarship, helping aspiring healthcare professionals in Douglas County pursue their calling. All donations go directly to the scholarship fund.
